Kornati offers some of the best snorkelling in Croatia. The protected waters are exceptionally clear, with visibility often exceeding 30 metres. Marine life includes octopus, moray eels, sea bream, and colourful nudibranchs. Diving can be arranged with a local operator.
How long should I spend in Kornati?
Two to three days allows you to explore the main anchorages, visit a konoba, and enjoy snorkelling in several different bays. The northern itinerary (Sibenik to Zadar) typically includes two nights in the Kornati archipelago.
Is it safe to anchor overnight in Kornati?
Yes. The islands provide excellent shelter from most wind directions, and your captain will choose anchorages based on the forecast. The seabed is generally sandy with good holding. It is one of the most peaceful overnight experiences in the Mediterranean.
