Food, Wine & Culture Charter in Kroatien
Croatia's best eating is ashore, in family-run konobas — and a yacht is the best way to reach it.
A food-focused charter in Kroatien works differently from a superyacht with a brigade in the galley. Most of our motor yachts sail with a skipper, or a skipper and hostess — so the cooking that matters happens ashore, in the konobas (family-run stone taverns) tucked into bays you can only reach by boat. That is the real Dalmatian table, and it is genuinely better than anything a small galley could attempt.
Your skipper grew up on this coast. They know which quiet harbours have the konoba worth the tender ride, when the morning fish market in Split or Hvar is at its best, and which islands are known for their wine. We help you book ahead where it’s needed — peka, the slow bell-baked speciality, often must be ordered hours in advance.
What’s actually included
We’re straight about the crew, because it shapes the whole experience. On smaller yachts (roughly 14–23 m) expect breakfasts and light lunches on board, dinners ashore, and your skipper or hostess pointing you to the good places. On larger yachts (26 m and up) a cook or chef may be aboard, so more can be prepared at anchor. There is no private chef as standard — we tell you exactly who is on the yacht you choose, and what the galley can and can’t do, before you book.
Ways to Taste Croatia from the Water
Every charter is bespoke, but these are the pillars of a food-focused week on der Adria.
Konoba Dining Ashore
Konobas are the soul of Dalmatian cooking — family-run stone taverns serving recipes handed down through generations, often with a peka (the slow bell-baked speciality) cooking under embers for hours. Your skipper knows the quiet harbours with the konoba worth the tender ride, and we help you book ahead where it is needed.
Wine & Olive Oil
The Peljesac peninsula and the island of Korcula are Croatia's standout wine regions — bold Plavac Mali reds, and the Posip and rare Grk whites of Lumbarda. Solta and Brac are known for their olive oil. Where the route and season allow, we can arrange cellar and producer visits along the way.
Markets & the Day's Catch
Mornings at the fish and produce markets of Split or Hvar, and seafood landed the same day. On yachts with a hostess or chef the catch can be prepared on board; on skipper-only yachts it is the centrepiece of dinner ashore. Either way, the ingredients are the point.
Yachts Built for Dining & Entertaining
Yachts with a good galley and generous outdoor space for dining at anchor. On larger yachts a cook or chef may be aboard; on smaller ones the focus is dining ashore.

Planning Your Culinary Charter
Best Saison
September and October are ideal for culinary charters. The grape harvest runs from mid-September through October, truffle season begins in September, fig and pomegranate season peaks, and der Adria is still warm enough for swimming. Restaurant quality is at its highest because kitchens are working with the freshest produce of the year. June is also excellent for seafood and early summer vegetables — and avoids the peak-season crowds of July and August entirely.
Catering & chef
A chef is not standard. Smaller yachts (14–23 m) sail with a skipper, or a skipper and hostess, and the focus is dining ashore. On larger yachts a cook or chef may be aboard. For Gäste who specifically want a dedicated chef, we can arrange one on suitable yachts — we’ll tell you which yachts support it and what it adds to the cost.
Dietary Accommodations
Dietary needs are easy to handle. On yachts with a hostess or chef, meals on board are prepared to your preferences from a sheet you complete before embarkation. On skipper-only yachts, dining is ashore, where konobas and restaurants readily cater to vegetarian, gluten-free and allergy-specific needs — just let us know in advance and we plan around it.
