## The Five Distinct Cruising Regions
### 1. Šibenik and the Kornati Archipelago
Šibenik sits at the mouth of the Krka River and serves as the gateway to Croatia’s most extraordinary natural feature: the Kornati National Park. This archipelago of 89 islands and islets is the densest island group in the Mediterranean, offering an almost surreal seascape of bare limestone islands, hidden coves, and crystal-clear water.

### 4. Dubrovnik and the Elafiti Islands
The southern tip of the Croatian coast centres on Dubrovnik, the walled city that needs no introduction. The nearby Elafiti Islands — Koločep, Lopud, and Šipan — provide tranquil anchorages minutes from the city.

## Practical Information
**Season:** May through October. Peak: July–August (30–35°C air, 24–26°C water). Best value: June and September.
**Wind patterns:** The Adriatic has two dominant wind systems. The Maestral (northwest afternoon sea breeze, 10–20 knots) provides pleasant sailing conditions from May to September. The Bura (strong northeast katabatic wind) and Jugo (warm southeast wind) are the principal weather risks — your captain will monitor forecasts and adjust accordingly.
